The UK release date of Disney's Live Action Remake of The Lion King is slowly approaching! It's now less than a month until 19th July, which if you're a long time Disney fan, you will know is the official launch date here in the UK.

The original Lion King was released in 1994 and was one of the biggest animated films of all time. In July 2019, the live-action version will hit our cinema screens - 25 years after the original. So what do we know about the new film?

Scar, Mufasa's brother -- and former heir to the throne -- has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. Now, with help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba must figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
